DIY MOUNT KIT – HEPCO BECKER

Description

This kit allows you to use any pair of case with a minimum flat surface area of 37 cm x 19 cm to attach to Hepco Becker side racks or your own racks.  The kit creates an ultra-strong case system with a quick-release locking system for a motorcycle top case that works with multiple rear mounts/plates and many types of cases.

If you use your own custom plate, we will provide you with a diagram of the holes you will need to drill in your plate.

or any other plastic or aluminium case with a flat surface measuring 37 cm x 19 cm inside and outside. Drilling and hole layout instructions are provided for the case and plate. The lockable latch is located on the outside of the case, so you don’t need to open the case to detach it from the motorcycle. The ‘anti-rattle’ latch is adjustable to keep the case securely in place on the mount and can be replaced on site

DIY Kit – Hepco Becker

Not every rider wants an off-the-shelf pannier or Top Case system. Many prefer to fit their own cases, military surplus boxes, or even vintage luggage. To make that possible, Caribou Cases Europe now offers a DIY Kit for Hepco Becker side racks—giving you the flexibility to mount your own cases or bags while retaining the strength and security of our proven keyed latch system.

Why Hepco Becker?
Unlike Givi, SW-Motech, or Touratech (who focus mainly on modern bikes), Hepco Becker racks also support classic motorcycles. Compatible with many cases

Riders sometimes use larger cases that extend over the passenger seat— in these cases we recommend reinforcing the base of the case.

Strong, secure, and quick release
The kit includes a keyed compression latch, mounting cleats, latch plate, and a metal backing plate that fits inside your case. The heavy-duty compression latch pulls the case into a 3 mm laser-cut, welded, powder-coated steel housing. This triangular housing limits movement in three planes, while the latch itself features a breakaway design that shears in a severe crash—protecting both case and rack.

Inside the luggage, a 3 mm laser-cut aluminium backing plate ties the latch and cleats together for long-term rigidity and secure mounting. For fabric or leather luggage, we strongly recommend grommets at the mounting points to prevent chafing.

The lockable latch is external, so you don’t need to open the case to remove it from the motorcycle. An adjustable anti-rattle feature keeps the panniers tight on the rack, and the latch can be replaced on site if needed.

Drilling and hole-layout instructions are included, along with illustrated fitting steps. We also provide a diagram of the Hepco Becker mounting hole pattern if you want to fabricate your own backing plate.
