DIY Kit – GIVI / SW MOTECH
Not all motorcyclists necessarily want a top box or standard pannier system. Many prefer to install their own cases, military crates or even vintage luggage. To make this possible, Caribou Cases Europe now offers a DIY kit for Givi Monokey and SW Motech EVO rear and side luggage racks, giving you the option to install your own cases or bags while maintaining the strength and security of our proven locking system.
Why a DIY kit?
Although we believe that our top box and side case systems are the most durable and impact-resistant on the market, many motorcyclists want to mount their own cases on their motorcycles, and we can often help them do so. If your motorcycle is equipped with Givi or SW Motech rear or side racks, this kit will help you mount your cases. If you want to equip your classic motorcycle with luggage, check out the luggage racks from Hepco Becker Luggage Rack Manufacturers – Caribou Cases Europe, which offers luggage racks for motorcycles dating back to the 1970s. If you use your own custom plate, we will provide you with a diagram of the holes you will need to drill in your plate.
The following cases can be used:
Peli 1550/1520 / AIR 1557,
Storm iM2600/iM2450/iM2400,
SKB I-Series, including 40 litres (3i-2015-7B-E), 37 litres (3I-19144N-8B-E) and 25 litres (3I-1813-7B-E)
HPRC 2550W / 2500 / 2600W
Panaro MAX505 / MAX465H220
Explore 4820 / 441
…and many other plastic or aluminium cases with a flat bottom measuring at least 25 cm x 25 cm. Motorcyclists sometimes use larger cases that protrude beyond the passenger seat. In this case, we recommend reinforcing the base.
Strong, secure and quick to release
The kit includes a keyed compression latch, mounting cleats, a latch plate and a metal backing plate that fits inside your case. The sturdy compression latch pulls the pannier into a 3 mm laser-cut, welded and powder-coated steel housing. This triangular housing restricts movement in three planes, while the latch itself features a breakaway system that shears off in the event of a violent collision, protecting both the pannier and the luggage rack.
